On June 10, 2026, the Forget Me Not Fund brought Teepa Snow to the Weidner Center for a free educational event.
Each attendee received a free copy of Teepa’s book, Dementia Care Partner Guide: Practical Tips for Transforming the Possibilities of Care.
The specific mission of the event was to keep it free, ensuring all professional and family caregivers had the opportunity to learn from Teepa regardless of their financial situation, while raising awareness and creating a dementia-friendly community. Organizers expected over 500 attendees, including community leaders, decision makers, and healthcare professionals.
Teepa covered 3 important topics:
- Dementia 360-Seeing the condition from everyone’s point of view.
- How to recognize and intervene when pain is a possibility.
- Learning the difference between letting go and giving up.
Registration for the event began at noon, with the conference running from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
This was followed by a cash bar and appetizer social until 7:00 PM. Sponsors played a vital role in making this free event possible, with significant support from the community.
Following the event, a free networking reception was held in the grand foyer. A highlight for many was that Teepa stayed for the event, happily signing books and offering attendees the opportunity for a private photo with her on the Weidner stage.
