Involvement with the Fund:
I am very proud to be a part of an organization that is making a difference in the lives of others in our home towns and small communities. My mother had early onset Dementia at a time when I knew very little about the disease and it was heartbreaking to see her struggle to remember. I would be very uncomfortable in those moments of forgetfulness and would try to fill in the blanks instead of letting her take her time and not worry about it. I wish I would have had the education and the tools that the FMN fund help provide to caregivers and those who are on this journey.

Fashion Show 2019! Seeing how much the event has grown and all the smiles and laughter by attendees.

Involvement with the Fund:
Supporting our mission in both the physical & online world. I oversee our website, manage social media, create marketing materials and assist in planning and organizing community events such as The Forget Me Not Fashion Show.

Presenting the 2023 Appreciation Award at the Forget Me Not Fall Fashion Show and volunteering for the FMNF Slushie Booth at Shawano SunDrop Dayz!

Involvement with the Fund:
As President,  I guide our board in supporting our mission of providing local financial support for the education of families, communities and caregivers to better the lives of those who have dementia.

Favorite FMNF Memory:
Having my family involved in the Fall Fashion Show & my daughter getting engaged on stage.

Fun Fact About Cara:
At one time, I had 72 Grandma’s & Grandpa’s to play with! (my parents owned a nursing home as I grew up).

For my Aunt Myrtle and all the families that shared their lives with us at The Cottages Memory Care.

I’ve helped plan & execute community events, volunteered and spread the word of our mission within the healthcare industry.

Favorite FMNF Memory:
Beer, Brat, Forget Me Not fundraiser in 2017. It was a wonderful event with good food, beer and music! And I won tickets to see Billy Joel at Lambeau Field! Watching my kids partake in the 2019 Fall Fashion Show is a close second.

I have 3 sisters, 4 brothers and 19 nieces & nephews.

I have been volunteering at SunDrop Dayz Forget Me Not Slushie booth for a few years and helped organize and run the successful 2023 Fall Fashion Show.

Favorite FMNF Memory:
Participating in my first Forget Me Not Fashion show. The amount of local friends and businesses that donated and made the event so magical as well as watching my oldest daughter shine with confidence while she modeled for Lucky Penny Boutique, it was a night I’ll never forget!

Fun Fact About Alayna:
I love to paint! I have painted murals on my children and my nephew’s nurseries.
