ย DETERMINED is a new, provocative new documentary film that follows three women at high risk for Alzheimerโs disease who are volunteers in a ground-breaking medical study at the University of Wisconsin. The women, from contrasting communities in Wisconsin, show extraordinary commitment to fight Alzheimer’s disease personally to change the trajectory of this fatal disease. They do this as they face significant challenges in their personal lives, such as caringย or aย parent with dementia, raising an adolescent son while after the loss of a parent, andย adopting healthierย lifestyle that may prevent future disease. This powerful and educational film will be followed by a panel discussion with the filmmakers and film participants immediately following to answer your questions. The research study profiled in the film Is a UW Madison study through the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute. The producers, Therese Barry-Tanner and Eilleen Littig are residents of Green Bay and the concept for this film came from Therese based on her own experience caring for her mother who had the disease.
