Dementia Care Partner Music Choir Group
Beginning January 5th , this music group will meet via Zoom or the phone, the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 1:00-2:00 pm. Participate in naming the choir, choosing music to sing, play along with your own musical instrument or clap along! This event is for those with dementia, their caregivers, family and friends. There is no obligation to attend every session.
Northeast Wisconsin Telephone Caregiver Support Group
Engage with other caregivers every Tuesday from 10:00–11:30 am. This call-in support group is made possible in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association and the Menominee County Dementia Care Specialist. Event is held via Zoom or the phone.
Silver Society Club
The Silver Society Club is an interactive social event for those with dementia, their caregivers, family and friends. This is an engaging event to help promote socialization. The meetings are held via Zoom or the phone the 2nd Friday of each month from 10:00-11:30 am. This event is in partnership with the Menominee County Dementia Care Specialist.
Learn the basics of dementia and how to maintain a dementia friendly community. February 3rd from 11:00 am–12:00 pm via Zoom or the phone.
Alzheimer’s / Dementia Monthly Education Training
The informational trainings are in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association and the Menominee County Dementia Care Specialist. Classes will be held via Zoom or the phone.
- January 20th: 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s Disease (11:00 AM-12 PM)
- February 17th: Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia (10:00-11:00 AM)
- March 17th: Healthy Living for your brain and body (10-11:00 AM)
Dementia Caregiver Series
This is a 4 part, 1 hour caregiver series that will focus on caregiver resources, dementia 101, 300 activities to do with a person with dementia, common behaviors and caregiver strategies. This series meets Thursdays, via Zoom or the phone on March 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm.
Dementia Live is an innovative program that will enlighten you with a deeper understanding and greater empathy for persons with cognitive impairment. This event will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, March 3rd from 2:00-3:00 pm.
Dementia Friendly Book Club
Read and discuss “Dementia Reimaged” by author Tia Powell, MD. “Building a life of Joy and Dignity from Beginning to End”. In partnership with Marinette County ADRC DCS. Mondays, February 1-March 1, 1-2:00 PM. This event will be held via Zoom or the phone.
Dementia Care Specialist Webinar Series
The 2nd Wednesday of each month from 12:00–1:00 pm. The Department of Health Services hosts webinars by DCS from Wisconsin. Events are held via Zoom or the phone.
